My Top 25 Worst Movies of All Time

25. Corky Romano (2001)
This movie lacks originality, imagination, creativity, fun, and good dialogue. In fact, the movie is entirely lacking and unnecessarily dumb.

24. Kazaam (1996)
Shaquille O’Neal plays a genie trapped in a boombox because, apparently, a lamp his size has not been invented yet. After enduring the lame plot and visuals, the filmmakers decide to torture your ears too—you’re forced to hear Shaq rap.

23. Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (2002)
Someone tell me what were they thinking with this one? It has such a lame script.

22. Cheaper By the Dozen 2 (2005)
Why did they have to ruin a good movie by making a sequel? This movie was just too crowded.

21. Rocky 5 (1990)
So, our hero is broke? What else is new? Then, he gets involved in a predictable street fight that we all knew he was going to win.

20. Big Momma’s House: Like Father, Like Son (2011)
While watching this mess, I just kept asking myself, “Why? Why? Why? Why are they doing this to me?”

19. The Whole Ten Yards (2004)
I loved The Whole Nine Yards. But here, the creators thought, “Let’s just add some random bits, remove reason and common sense, and call it a sequel.”

18. Batman and Robin (1997)
I’m begging you, don’t watch this movie if you haven’t already.

17. Son of the Mask (2005)
What even was this?

16. Raw Deal (1986)
I still remember the trailer: “Nobody gives Arnold Schwarzenegger a raw deal.” Yeah, right.

15. The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002)
You spend the entire time watching this movie searching for a reason to continue.

15. Meet Dave (2008)
Tied at number 15, these movies go well together, don’t you think? Eddie Murphy at his worst.

14. Big Momma's House 2 (2006)
I have no comments.

13. Because I Said So (2007)
“Because you said so” is not a reason.

12. Half Past Dead (2002)
There’s more to life than this.

11. Showgirls (1995)
After all the nudity and sex, what’s left? Nothing. Yet somehow, this movie has a huge cult following.

10. Grease 2 (1982)
Why wreck a classic?

9. Johnson Family Vacation (2004)
I can’t believe I watched this. Bow Wow? Seriously?

8. Gigli (2003)
Not only was it a box-office bomb, but it also manages to keep getting worse scene after scene. Just when you think it can’t, it does.

7. Daredevil (2003)
I have nothing to say.

6. Miss March (2009)
The only good thing in this movie is the rapper’s ridiculous name: “Horse Dick.mpeg.”

5. In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2008)
This movie is a blatant Lord of the Rings rip-off with a storyline so nonsensical that it doesn’t explain why most things are happening.

4. Basic Instinct 2 (2006)
Why was this made?

3. Code Name: The Cleaner (2007)
Stupid film.

2. Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
It feels like the makers had some leftover budget and decided to throw random things together for this disaster.

1. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)
This movie is as absurd as the “game” they play in it.

RIO (2011)

RIO (2011)

6/10

Starring
Jesse Eisenberg
Anne Hathaway
George Lopez

Directed by Carlos Saldanha

Rio is a 3D computer-animated movie for the family this Easter period. It is crammed with suspense and thrills for the kids. I didn’t expect much from the movie, but I was entertained. Imagine a domesticated parrot, who thought the reason he couldn’t fly was because he probably was an ostrich. Rio is funny, with catch phrases that can make you laugh all through the movie.
The characters are well developed and the locations are beautifully rendered. The plot is reminiscent of Madagascar (by Dreamworks), but the voice casting to me needed some work.
That means you Jesse. I mean, Jesse? Seriously? When Blu was making a move on Jewel all he had to say was ‘are you on Facebook?’

Rio, is about a domesticated macaw (translated blue parrot) Blu voiced by Jesse Eisenberg, who is stolen from his home in Brazil and smuggled into the States.

He finds his way into the hands of a little girl named Linda and they spend 15 inseparable years together. Linda discovers with some help that the macaw (blue parrot) is almost extinct so she arranges for Blu to be flown to Brazil to mate with a free spirited blue macaw, named Jewel (voiced by Anne Hathaway).

Later on, the rare birds get stolen by smugglers and we are faced with an adventure of how they escape and find their way back, to their owners.

RIO is Blue Sky Studios's sixth feature film, although they are behind PIXAR/Disney and Dreamworks studios when it comes to making the big bucks in the box office, and planting memorable characters in your memory. Blue Sky has found a way to keep their head above water.

They are the makers of Ice Age, Horton Hears a who and Robots. Although the last two movies listed here didn’t make as huge a wave as the Ice Age series or their new feature RIO, we can see that Blue Sky is more interested in making movies that are suitable for all the family to watch.

Rio has something grand to look out for and it is the carnival. How the director made the carnival pivotal to the love between Blu and Jewel is just moving. A down side to the movie is that not only is it predictable (yet funny), the movie is not memorable and you’ll probably forget all that happened 5 minutes after watching. Kudos to the score, you don’t get to feel like the music in the movie is detached from it, like it was in HOP. It’s a movie for the Kids and adults with enough free time on their hand.

Tron: Legacy (2011)

Tron: Legacy (2011)

5/10

Starring
Jeff Bridges
Garrett Hedlund
Bruce Boxleitner
Olivia Wilde

Directed by Joseph Kosinski

TRON: LEGACY is a 3D movie action/Sci-Fi movie, and it stars Sam Flynn (GARRETT HEDLUND), as a tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (JEFF BRIDGES), who looks into his father's disappearance and finds himself pulled into the digital world where his father has been living for 25 years with his loyal confidant Quorra (OLIVIA WILDE), father and son embark on a life and death journey to escape across a visually stunning cyber universe.

Rumors of a Tron sequel had been around since the release of the first person shooter game Tron 2.0 (2003). Steven Lisberger who produced, directed and wrote the first Tron, was also a on board as a producer in this sequel.

At the time of release of Tron it was the first feature film based around computer animation, at that time, in the year 1982.

Tron Legacy is a movie with enough light effect to light up a whole city and lacking in effective dialogue that you can skip what they say. The visual effect is so captivating but that doesn’t save you from a boring script.

Disney tried to hide the lack of a good plot with over bearing effects, action and light, but yet forgot that the people watching must be thrilled by the story.

The movie compared to Tron, is a catastrophe. While Tron lacked all the wonderful effects that legacy had, but Tron had a good story to ride on that keeps you the viewer captivated to the very end.

I have to give Jeff Bridges a good pat on the back for a good performance he pulled it off for me and the other actors did a good job, also nice casting, and the visual effect on unaged Jeff Brides (CLU) was a nice work by the animators. The sound of this movie is one of a kind the music was delivered by Daft Punk and it is a big 10/10.

To the directing, the director leads you astray in this one, he makes you believe that things will pick up soon as father and son meet,

SIKE!!!

That didn’t happen, what was he thinking making a movie with no character development (unlike its predecessor Tron) and the actors lacking in emotions, the actors all seemed like people feeling cool with themselves being stiff and posing in blue illumination.
Question: Why is the identity disc also a weapon? It has all my data, imagine throwing the brain around...?
Just a thought...

My Cousin Vinny (1992)

My Cousin Vinny (1992)

8/10

Starring
Joe Pesci
Ralph Macchio
Marisa Tomei

Directed by Jonathan Lynn

This movie was done in 1992, 19 years ago and yet still watching it all over again (2nd time in 2 weeks) I found myself laughing hard.

The whole plot was well planned out. I also have to give the casting crew credit for this one, for casting Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei. Marisa out did herself in this movie and I was glad that she won an Academy Award for it, the growth from Bill’s Cosby ‘A different world’to this classic is just exceptional. The movie is a sit down comedy that will keep you chuckling after the last scene is over. Being a lawyer is a lot harder than it looks, and Joe Pesci showed us that.

The courthouse scenes were filmed on a set based on the courthouse in the town square of Monticello, Georgia. The movie has been praised for its comedy's realistic depiction of courtroom procedure and trial strategy.

Back to the movie, listening to the music that goes with the movie makes you want to buy the soundtrack.

The plot is about two friends who got themselves in a jam with the law and were facing serious prison time when one decided to call his cousin Vinny to come help out. But Vinny was not a lawyer.

The directing done by Jonathan Lynn, not only does he tell a story of a courtroom drama, but it in a way makes you feel like you’re in the shoes of Vincent Gambini (Joe Pesci) and you are learning how to be a lawyer.

The dialogue of the movie was what makes this movie a master piece. The movie doesn’t try to thrill you with acting gimmicks, foolishness and unnecessary clichés, but by sharp words and well thought of lines that takes you to the laugh bank.

Now a day we are not so thrilled again, but yet still some movies still pull some cool stunts at trying to make you laugh and unlike Meet the Parents which pulled it off with wonderful dialogue and Hangover which mixes both dialogue and foolishness.

The film was Fred Gwynne’s final film appearance before his death on July 2, 1993, of pancreatic cancer. Fred played Judge Chamberlain Haller.

The movie also starred Karate Kid star, Ralph Macchio, who has kinda faded away in the movie business, I can only recall seeing him inthe television comedy Ugly Betty in the recurring role of Archie, a local Queens politician.

He competed on the twelfth season of Dancing with the Stars which he came in fouth.

I will like to know which other funny comedies have you seen from the old days that makes you laugh any time you see it?

HOP (2011)

HOP (2011)

3/10

Starring
James Marsden
Russell Brand
Kaley Cuoco
Hugh Laurie

Directed by Tim Hill

Hop is an Easter theme animated feature movie, that tells the tale of a rabbit E.B, who doesn’t want to take over from his dad as the Easter bunny.

The tale also tells the story of a man Fred (James Madsen) who is seen as a disappointment by his father. This two meet and the movie starts.

A young bunny refuses to follow in his father’s footsteps and runs away from home to chase his dream.

That plot alone lacks creativity, and can only pass if you have a good script to back it up. But in Hop's case that script probably hopped away.

He runs into a guy and at first makes the guys life a living hell.

The bunny is chasing a career to be a top musician, in a self-centered way, now doesn’t that sound familiar?
Did I mention that this movie was directed by the same guy that directed Alvin and the Chipmunks?

The music was…. the choice of music was ‘I want candy’ which E.B sang while ruining a drama presentation, not only was the song itself absurd when hearing it because it doesn’t go with the scene at present, not even with movie as a whole at all, it was sung to make it look like Madison was using E.B as a hand puppet.

In that particular where scene E.B goes crazy singing i want candy, it just stood out weird and out of place, what was the director thinking?

Hop itself is a lot of hops away from being a master piece, with an uninspiring script, and too many familiar clichés and plots. The movie is boring to watch, and it makes you want to turn off the screen if possible after just 30 minutes into it. Too many things are wrong with this movie e.g

A bunny that poops candy??? Come on!!!

This movie lacks suspense in any way and it is as predictable as they come.

The reason Madison was in this beats me, so i just want to believe that maybe James wasn’t getting roles so he had to settle for this. His portrayal of an immature man was not doing justice to the movie as James is better suited for a movie that exploits his talent as a matured individual.

You can argue that he tried, but I believe better casting could have been done because he looked over grown for the role and made every scene he was look silly.

The dialogue didn’t even make me grin, and this movie is supposed to be a comedy.

Well the only plus is the voice casting, and the Cameo voice of Hugh Hefner too was a plus, if you haven’t seen this congrats you have dodged a bullet.

Source Code (2011)

Source Code

7/10

Starring
Jake Gyllenhaal
Michelle Monaghan
Vera Farmiga
Jeffrey Wright

Directed by Duncan Jones

In an ongoing train a man wakes up to see a woman talking to him who apparently knows who he is and he not knowing who she is.

Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a decorated pilot who awakens in a body in a train, and has 8 minutes to find the bomber of the train out of the hundred passengers on board.

Captain Colter is part of a government experiment that allows him to cross over into another man’s body for his (i.e. the man's) last 8 minutes.

The movie is a Sci-Fi Groundhog Day, with an opening that keeps you in suspense of what’s going on, or what’s going to happen. Set on a plot about a man trying to find out who blew up a train so (which had happened a while back) as to stop an even greater threat.

Saying Jake Gyllenhaal didn’t deliver is an understatement. His ability to capture the role of the character is enough to keep you watching. The plot of the movie, gives you a sense of suspense, as you go through the train explosion with the character 8 minutes at a time, trying to unravel how what has been done was done.

A storyline like this is what keeps you watching, with time not wasted on meaningless dialogue the movie goes straight to the point in the first 5 minutes.
The involvement of a female interest by Duncan Jones, creating a form of intimacy between the captain and the woman who always welcomes him with a smile, Christina Warren (Michelle Monaghan) makes the movie personal.

The truth here is, developing a love interest for someone you know is dead is a little farfetched, but it all adds to the emotional thrill of the movie, so you are not just overwhelmed by intense action scenes. Source Code gets a lot done in a short time, with a masterful screenplay. The science maybe bogus but the delivery is grounded. After every 8 minute journey he returns back to reality where a sympathetic Colleen Goodwin (Vera Farmiga), an officer conducting the experiment, helps to piece the captain’s Journey from shaky facts to human reality, with the aim of getting enough facts to stop the bombing of another train.

The thrill of the movie is not in the action packed 90 minutes, but the confusion of the Lead character, who is finding it hard to keep a hold on reality and memory lapses, causes him to first drift off when he returns after an 8 minute trip. Is like watching him trying to unravel two mysteries of what is going on now and what was going on 8 minutes ago.

The twist in the movie about the lead character is something you will love, and happy endings cannot be overdone.

All in all Source Code is a good movie something you and the family will enjoy.
